Heard of the Metro Revolution yet Mr Naphine?

Sometimes you find quite fabulous things on the web.

Today’s treat, a Brookings Institute App that showcases the increasingly important role of cities in delivering change and prosperity to its citizens.

One of the highlighted examples is how Los Angeles dealt with gridlock and yet another freeway proposed as a solution.

Yes folks, as some of us might have expected, their solution was to increase tax to provide an efficient and effective public transport system.

Which makes you wonder…. Has anyone even asked whether we wouldn’t want to spend our money in this way too?

Perhaps we’d all prefer this to that East West sink hole and an accompanying reduction in company tax

  1. Yes, perhaps we would like to be asked our opinion…or at least be listened to when we clearly state that an efficient public transport system is what we *actually* want!
